Tonight as I was getting Jacob ready for bed, I noticed some marker smeared across the knuckles of his hand. He excitedly showed me his fist and told me this trick he learned in school today! It went something like this... This is Bob (He holds up his knuckles) and then he smashed his hands together and explained, this is Bob when a car goes by... and then of course he laughs hysterically! I immediately gasped and picked myself off of the floor and asked to have a closer look at his hand. In very black permanent marker he had drawn the word THIS on his knuckles. Each letter had its own finger. Jacob however wrote the word backwards and reversed the middle two letters. So whenever he held up his hand into someone's face, profanity was just staring you down. I of course was mortified and Jacob had no idea what was wrong. He told me all of his friends had done the same thing and he even showed his teacher! I scrubbed Jacob's little fingers so hard with every kind of soap imaginable... all to no avail. Finally, I gave up and just got a permanent marker and scribbled the whole thing out. So now Jacob's knuckles are one big black mess! I wonder what his teacher will think tomorrow. If Jacob is not swearing in church, he's writing profanity on his hand. What to do?
